COMPANY BACKGROUND


Ngulunews was established in 2000 as a fundraising project of the grade 12 commerce class for their educational tours, prizes for their academic challenge competition and to establish a bursary fund for commerce learners in the school. The paper received massive support from the business community, neighboring schools and other communities. It has since grown from A4 handwritten paper to A3 colour community newspaper. It is released every month and distributed through various schools, shops, public institutions in and around Greater Sekhukhune District. Complimentary copies are distributed to advertisers. The publication is also available online - www.ngulunews.co.za

To become a platform where young people and community members in general, in South Africa and the rest of the world can engage in dialogue.

MISSION

  • To become a cross border publication that will link young people from all corners of the world.

  • To serve as a communication tool for businesses, government, schools and communities in general.
  • To offer jobs to young people and thus participate in eradicating unemployment, which is a major contributor to increase in crime, AIDS and poverty in our communities.
  • Provide auxiliary services such as printing, layout and design and photography for other institutions.

PRODUCT OFFERING

Publishing of Newspaper
Ngulunews is currently printing and publishing on a monthly basis 10 000 copies. We are in the process of equipping ourselves to publish bi-weekly with the ultimate aim of becoming a weekly publication. Ngulunews is also available online.

ADVERTISING
Ngulunews offers advertisement space in the publication for businesses of all sizes. We have already advertised for government organs, Big businesses and SMME’s. We have the capacity to design advertisements for companies to be placed in the publication.

PUBLICITY
Schools, Businesses, Government Departments, Tertiary institutions use our publication to publicize their activities.

INFORM
The community in general sees Ngulunews as a source of information to them

EDUCATE
Young people and other members of the community use Ngulunews to practice their writing skills and to exchange information and ideas. Ngulunews also offers members of the community an opportunity to get skills in journalism. Photography, computer literacy.

CLIENTELE PHILOSOPHY
The success of our business entity is dependent on how best we serve and relate to our clientele. To this end, Ngulunews will walk an extra mile in ensuring that we cultivate a mutually productive relationship by fulfilling our clientele’s expectations.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Ngulunews is a non-profit making institution that focuses on serving the community rather than making a profit. Although the driving force behind our activity is service, we endeavor to give the customer high quality service at rates that will allow us to sustain ourselves. We also endeavor to establish a Bursary fund to assist learners towards their High School and Tertiary Education. We will continue to network with other institutions that will help to address the socio-economic deficits in our communities.
